White House Staff Chaos
Why is there so much chaos and leaking in the White House Administration?
We see them disunited, forming groups against each other, as well as against Donald Trump himself.
The answer is really quite simple and should have been easy to predict even before the elections.
Trump has a management style that can function in a stand alone business. It is an inefficient management style, useful only if the manager pathologically enjoys setting people up against each other.
Bringing that management style to the White House was a disaster. The United States’ presidency is not exactly a small stand alone business.
The clue to why the White House staff are a cesspool of feuding sharks is in one strange choice Donald Trump made in staffing the White House Administration.
Trump brought in Omarosa. Why? Why bring in a person with a record of being a conniving treacherous stirrer. That’s a question many TV pundits asked. Nobody could explain what she was doing in the Administration.
The answer is to cause disruption and stir animosity between staff members. Trump’s management style is to keep people working for him off balance and competing against each other. This is the opposite of a well functioning, balanced and harmonious management style.
Omarose Onee Manigault-Newman is one of the best of the best to cause strife. Trump would be hard pressed to find a more competent candidate for that job.
She is a vicious, vile, venomous viper. Her claim to fame is being a horrible person.
Now that she has left Trump’s employ she will continue being Omarosa. She will still be the scheming, plotting manipulator, spreading innuendo laden gossip to media.
She, if anyone, kept notes, or maybe even tape recordings of her time in the White House. Omarosa is a very intelligent woman. Far cleverer than Donald Trump. Omarosa has one overwhelming defect however. One she share with Trump. She appears to be a narcissist, which affects her emotions negatively, with a heightened need to be nasty.
Wait for the book. This will be a best seller beating Michael Wolff’s Fire and Fury hands down.
Omarosa will continue sowing seeds of chaos as she enters a new phase in her life as a cunning, calculating, treasonous troublemaker. But what are the other staff thinking about their boss?
Why was Donald Trump called a “Moron” by senior White House staff? Interestingly, no officials have denied that he is a “moron”.
The background to the “moron” comment was a meeting at the Pentagon about the Afghan war. Donald Trump compared the policy for the Afghanistan war to the renovations of the 21 Club Restaurant in Manhattan. The story, which is false by the way, was that the 21 Club hired some very expensive consultants for renovations that took well over a year and ended up changing very little. Trump said that talking to the waiters would have led to better more efficient choices than listening to the so called experts.
Implied: Donald Trump knows better than the generals who have been fighting in Afghanistan all these years. A year before the election Trump said that he knows more about Islamic State terrorists “than the generals do”. So the United States electorate knew his dysfunctional thinking before he was elected.
Besides the obvious stupidity of the comparison, the story was fake. When the story came out, the owner of the 21 Club said:
“I have no idea what was in his head. I never have”.
When Donald Trump became president everyone, except for Trump’s voter base, knew that Trump was ignorant, unschooled, erratic and unwilling to learn the job. He knew nothing about the world and knew next to nothing about foreign policy. There was a hope that Trump would rely on people like Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, John Kelly and the National Security Adviser HR McMaster to guide Trump in the administration’s decision making.
Unfortunately Trump’s narcissism is so extreme that he thinks he knows everything and nobody is cleverer than him. So trump does not let himself be guided. Donald Trump received a good education, but he did not benefit from it because he thought he knew everything better than his teachers. Now he thinks he knows better than his advisors. Added to this he displays the emotional maturity of a seven-year-old.
The Iran Deal
On Iran, for example, Donald Trump thinks he knows better than the International Atomic Energy Agency, the international body overseeing the Iran agreement which has said that Iran remains in compliance of the agreement, as well as Secretary of Defense James Mattis, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Joseph Dunford.
Trump knows best. Always.
The competent people Trump has in his cabinet seem unable to protect the world and the USA from the chaos that is Donald Trump. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, John Kelly and McMaster reportedly spend their time finding their way round the president. Trying to minimize the chaos that is in the Trumpian White House. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson, Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, and Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin reportedly have forged a “suicide pact” in which all three members of President Trump’s Cabinet would leave if one of them becomes a target of the president.
Donald Trump says that he wants to decertify the Iranian nuclear agreement. This is against the better judgement of all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, Germany, France, the European Union and the entire United States Security Council. The chairman of the joint chiefs of staff, General Joseph Dunford, recently said that pulling out of the multilateral deal would affect United States credibility and could hinder its ability to strike security agreements in the future.
The talk is about whether or not the Secretary of State Rex Tillerson called Trump a “moron”, but reports on White House staff do not deny that they think Donald Trump is a “moron”. There is no one defending Trump against the charge that he is a moron.
